Top 10 Nigerian Holiday Locations To Visit
Many of us are so keen about leaving Nigeria that we do not even consider Nigerian holiday locations as top vacation spots.
We don’t seem to be able to sell the idea to ourselves here, how much more foreigners? But then, all it takes is a good camera and a photographer with the right eye, great angles and massive publicity; all in your face. Suddenly, you want to travel.
I don’t blame us. Firstly, even the government does not put so much thought into it. Tourism seems to be almost dead in Nigeria. Sadly, there are a lot of Nigerian Holiday Locations To Visit. The turnout is just low. Secondly, tourism is a great revenue source for any country or state but when you consider travel options in this Nigeria, you’d want to sit your bum at home. Still, there are many great holiday locations to visit In Nigeria are numerous.
Today, we won’t be looking at how our dear Nigeria has done us a strong thing, we’d be looking at the awesomeness and grandeur of nature and taking a relaxing trip. In addition, I’d be sharing a couple of reasons and visuals to ginger you. Before you can afford to go to your dream tourist location, try out any of these holiday locations in Nigeria. Absolutely economical.
Top 10 Nigerian Holiday Locations
Obudu Cattle Ranch
Located in Cross River State, Obudu has always been at the top of my tourist destination list in Nigeria. If you want to go on a trip for the girls and an exclusive resort for honeymooning with your bae, Obudu is the place for you. A girl has dreams.

Yankari National Park/Game Reserve
Look at these beautiful images and tell me why not? Yankari has been on my lips since primary school. It wouldn’t hurt to visit. This beautiful reserve and national park are located in Bauchi State.

Olumo Rock
The ancient and historical Olumo rock lies in the city of Abeokuta in Ogun State. I’m going there for the view, as it overlooks the city. As for climbing, thank God, there are stairs. It is indeed an uphill task.

Olumirin Waterfall/Erin Ijesha
I visited this awesome waterfall in 2019 and I definitely want to go back. The view of the town where it is located, climbing the hills, and then, the awesome waterfall. This place is top-notch and is great for a group trip. I do not advise solo travel so you can enjoy this place to the fullest. The Olumirin waterfall is located in Erin Ijesha, Osun State.

Ikogosi Springs
This spring gushes both hot and cold water and yet, they do not mix at the meeting point. The spring and resort are located at Ikogosi in Ekiti State. Want to marvel at the splendour of nature? This is your spot.

Ogbunike Cave
The Ogbunike caves are located in Anambra State. This wonderful cave also has a waterfall inside of it. It is blanketed by a tropical rainforest. It is said that the waters in the cave possess healing powers. What are you waiting for?

Tafawa Balewa, Bauchi
Tafawa Balewa is a local government area in Bauchi State. The first and only prime minister of Nigeria, Tafawa Balewa, hails from this local government. This area houses his tomb, which has a magnificent architectural structure and is made open to tourists.

Mambilla Plateau
This is in Taraba State and not Plateau State. The Plateau houses the Gembu Hills. Did you see these beauties? They are also known as a major tea-growing hill in Nigeria. Please let me roll on these hills. I wonder why Nollywood is sleeping on locations like this.

Badagry, Lagos
After touring around Nigeria, I wouldn’t mind going to relax and sunbathe on the beautiful beaches in Badagry, Lagos State. It also houses the Slaves’ Barracoon, and it used to be one of the major slave loading points in history. Badagry is no small town in the scheme of things. A road trip and a vacation would hit so nicely here.

Kainji Lake National Park
The Kainji National Park is located in Niger state. Also, the park shares the same location as the Kainji Dam, which is the foremost and largest hydroelectrical dam and powerplant in Nigeria.

These tourist sites are just a scratch on the surface of all the beautiful holiday locations in Nigeria. Which of these locations have you visited and which would you like to visit?
