HOW TO LIVE OUT YOUR NEW YEAR
It’s been 10 days already since the new year began. Remember all those talks about New Year Resolutions. Ask yourself in all sincerity, how many of those resolutions seem feasible now? Or better yet, how many have you started working on?
Read our post on Before You Make Your Resolutions.
Remember, how I said it’s quite easy to set goals than work on them?
Why divide your plans and goals into three categories? The long term goals, the medium-term goals and the short term goals.
The long term goals can include those things that are only realizable between 10 to 12 months. Your medium-term goals could be achieved within 5 to 6 months and your short term goals could be a month. Your goals can then be linked to each other. Let each one lead to the next.
Let it be like building a house. You go from the foundation to the body and then the roofing and finishing. Don’t do a ton of things at a time. Some plans are bulkier than others. Some are easier to realize than others.
For those whose resolutions are habits not plans now. Take it a day at a time. You can’t stop a bad habit at once. It’s gradual. It should be a reduction so it will not become something you miss.
Here are a few steps to live out your new year:
- Have the desire first to stop.
- Be Disciplined.
- Be Accountable, either to yourself or you find an accountability partner.
- Have a mentor.
- Read books.
- Keep yourself busy.
- Don’t be alone.
- Keep records of the days you succeed and the days you don’t.
- Talk to someone about your habit, it helps a great deal.
- Stay positive.
This year separate business from friends. Don’t be too loose mouthed. Let your results announce you.
With not so many words left… Take things easy. Do not worry.
