BEFORE YOU MAKE YOUR RESOLUTIONS

BEFORE YOU MAKE YOUR RESOLUTIONS

When it comes to the new year and the urge to make your resolutions, I’ve found that realism is my best friend. The end of a thing, they say, is the beginning of another. The close of a door leads to the opening of another.

It’s a New Year.

Glad we made it. Hale, whole and strong.

BEFORE YOU MAKE YOUR RESOLUTIONS

So, the past is behind us. All the evils of 2018 are gone. Now, we are looking forward with hope to 2019

But then, we all come forward with the new year “resolutions”. Is it a good or a bad thing? It’s good obviously but doesn’t restrict you.

Trust in God.

Things you should know before you make your resolutions

BEFORE YOU MAKE YOUR RESOLUTIONS

As I look ahead, I too feel that the year 2019 is blessed already. There’s an undeniable sense of optimism, a fresh page waiting to be filled. And in this journey, I’ve come to realize the profound truth of looking to a higher power when human support falters, or even more acutely, when I find myself disappointing myself. It’s in those moments of personal struggle that faith becomes a powerful anchor, reminding me of an unwavering source of strength.

This year, I’m making a conscious effort to separate business from friends. While collaborations and shared ventures can be exciting, I’ve learned that mixing the two without clear boundaries can strain invaluable relationships. My friendships are treasures, and I want to protect them from the complexities and pressures that inevitably come with financial dealings. This isn’t about distrust; it’s about preserving the purity of those bonds.

Crucially, I’m embracing the call to learn to be independent. This isn’t just about financial self-sufficiency, though that’s a significant part of it. It’s about cultivating a sense of self-reliance, finding my own rhythm, and developing the skills and resources to navigate life’s challenges. For me, that means getting my hands busy, actively seeking out a good and profitable endeavor. Idleness, I’ve come to understand, can be a silent drain on both spirit and potential. Whether it’s a side hustle, a passion project, or simply dedicating time to personal development, I’m committed to finding something fulfilling to occupy my time and energy.

Grand, unattainable goals often lead to frustration and a sense of failure. Instead, I’m focusing on crafting resolutions that are achievable, measurable, and genuinely impactful. This means identifying what truly pulls me back, what dehumanizes me, and making the difficult but necessary decision to stop those habits or associations. It’s about shedding the dead weight, creating space for growth, and building a foundation that truly supports the person I aspire to be. This year, my resolutions aren’t just wishful thinking; they are practical, actionable steps towards a more independent, focused, and ultimately, blessed 2019.

Not too many words to say…
