Should Age Matter in A Relationship?

“Age is nothing but a number”. Tell me one more saying that we have not heard all through our lives that we haven’t met in the future. But how did we come to believe that a 22-year-old man shouldn’t be in a relationship? Or that a 27-year-old woman is already running out of biological time? Should age matter in a relationship or not? There’s also the issue of dating someone much older or younger than you. Age is more than just a number. It has an impact on every relationship.

A man can be old but immature, and a girl can be young and can handle whatever life throws at them. This is yet another cliche that has led us to where we are now. But where do you draw the line? And, eventually, are cliches real or false?

I never imagined being in a relationship with a guy who was way older than me with a specific age gap. 5 or 6 years older and I’ll be gone. But males, or should I say men my age, say they’re hustling. So I considered changing my mind, but my reasons for not doing so surfaced again. No thanks to older guys. In reality, they are not “old”. The age difference is my issue. But who knows where true love lies?

HUSTLING AND GETTING READY

Dating guys your own age can be challenging. Assume he is 23 years old. There’s no mention of marriage. Nobody wants to make a commitment based on the possibility that “anything could happen.” “Oh, I need to have enough first, enough to take care of you, my darling,” you’d start hearing. Fiam! They’ve vanished into the whirlwind of hustle. Then, they return around 28 – 29 about entering 30 to pursue younger girls. They literally have money to spend now.

Their belief will now shift to the notion that women in the age range of 29 to 30 are chasing men away and have high expectations. Bro! It’s called clarity. That is why what you have accumulated has no effect on them. Younger females would be more attracted to your FACILITIES.

It works like magic because males their age are off hustling and you are ready and eager to commit to younger ladies. That’s why we have a 30-year-old guy and a 21-year-old girl dating or intending to marry.

30 YEARD OLDS AND LADIES/MEN IN THEIR EARLY 20s

I’ve always questioned why a 30-year-old man would date a 20- or 21-year-old woman. An age difference of ten years. No, don’t think about Abraham and Sarah. They lived in separate eras and seasons. These kinds of connections, on the other hand, do work. This age difference thing between older women and younger men is unusual. Society has wrinkles simply thinking about it, let alone seeing it. The woman is out to suck his blood, desperate or just a waste of the guy’s time after wasting her own life. In this part of the world, it may require spiritual deliverance.

My main issue with it is there could be a potential power struggle. It can cause the man to take over the girl’s life, not in a bad way though but in terms of decisions and growth. Or even the woman. (If she is older) Why? The older party has navigated life. It’s easier for them to offer advice, but how will boo & babe think on their own? Or, “I expect you to know this happens”.

There is the tendency to want to be, know, and do enough. Though, your own lack of experience – and their wealth of experience – can develop into a very comfortable relationship. This is especially true if you are in your mid-20s. Eventually, the babe will move out of acting based on their age range. But how about the experiences?

Dear man or woman, in this situation, guide and not control. He was too mature for me, and we didn’t really communicate well. There’s no point in preventing growing up. To engage with an older guy/lady is to peek inside a different point of view on life.

From the first conversation, I am off. It seems like a beautiful thing, though. Older guys are way more calm, sensitive and receptive. There is no one-size-fits-all in this love thing. 5-10 years with the only issue I have is probability. Let’s see what will happen.

There are no good or bad stories. There will only be your story. Pick what serves you.

I have my reservations. Am I willing to try? Maybe. Age will, however, influence your relationship, either good or bad. Do you think age should matter in a relationship?
