It’s October 11th again, and once again, the world is celebrating the Girl Child. The theme for this year’s celebration is “With Her: A Skilled Girlforce”
October 11th was declared International Day of the Girl Child by the United Nations. The world has come out to say, “We are standing with our future. We would support them. Give them all they need for success. We would spur them on to their future. We won’t hold them back.”
The UN seeks opportunities to be created for young girls to develop their skills for gainful employment. Today, the world is being asked to show effort to educate the girl child. Not only to educate, but to train, develop, shape, mould and even transform, as we are heading into a world where technology and innovations will determine the world order.
Do not leave any girl behind. I wish all women who actually scream out for feminism and equal rights for women would take this call and build up this young generation.
We should be in a world where women support women.
Young girls need to be armed with the tools and skill set required to carve their way into this world. I wish we had less talking and more working.
WITH HER: A SKILLED GIRLFORCE
Pick a young girl today. Adopt her. Be her mentor. Contribute to her life. Develop and train her. Educate her. Finance Her. Give her what she deserves. Have her believe in herself. Inform her. Join the struggle. Keep up with the fight. Liberate the girl child today. Motivate her. Nullify doubts that arise in her mind.
Open her up to what the future holds. Push her to great heights. Quiet every voice of fear. Raise her hopes and don’t dash them. Save her future. Train her thoughts and mind. Understand her fears and dissuade them. Vote for the girl child, it counts. Winning along the way, hold her hands. e(X)perience life with her. Yield not to every compromising situation. Zero down negativity.
