Only those who are wise would see the truth and swallow it. Is the truth truly “bitter” a pill to swallow?
According to a 19th-century legend, the Truth and the Lie meet one day. The Lie says to the Truth, “It’s a marvellous day today!” The Truth looks up to the skies and sighs, for the day was really beautiful. They spend a lot of time together, ultimately arriving beside a well.
The Lie tells the Truth: “The water is very nice; let’s take a bath together!” The Truth, once again suspicious, tests the water and discovers that it indeed is very nice. They undress and start bathing.
Suddenly, the Lie comes out of the water, puts on the clothes of the Truth and runs away. The furious Truth comes out of the well and runs everywhere to find the Lie and to get her clothes back. The World, seeing the Truth naked, turns its gaze away, with contempt and rage.
The poor Truth returns to the well and disappears forever, hiding therein its shame. Since then, the Lie travels around the world, dressed as the Truth, satisfying the needs of society because the World, in any case, harbours no wish at all to meet the naked Truth.

It’s very funny that people in our world today see the truth very faintly. Nobody wants to see the truth for what it is. Like Jean-Leon Jerome puts it, “The World, seeing the Truth naked, turns its gaze away, with contempt and rage.” The naked truth is being offered freely, but people would rather give an expensive sum to buy lies.
Is The Truth Truly Bitter?
1000 lies would definitely be told to cover up for 1 lie. Imagine how that keeps growing. Do not feed people lies; keep an open mind and do not be held bound by lies. It’s the slavery of the mind and soul.
The truth fosters unity. Lies tend to be the axe that cuts the ties in every group of people. Lies destroy friendships, relationships, services, etc.
I wonder why people don’t see the dangers lying hidden in Pandora’s Box until the contents have been spilt. A lot can only be said; the decision lies in the hands of individuals to make a change.
So is the truth truly bitter? Or have we chosen to shield our tongues from the unsavoury taste of lies so that when truth comes in, it loses all pleasures?
It is ironic that people would rather tell a lie than want to be lied to.
Buy the truth and sell it not.
